A Store in Flensburg: Juden Haben Hier Hausverbot

FLENSBURG, Germany – A store in the northern German city of Flensburg has sparked outrage and condemnation after placing a sign on its entrance door explicitly banning Jewish people.
The sign, written in German, read: “JUDEN haben hier Hausverbot!!!!” (“Jews are banned from entering here!!!!”). In an attempt to justify the statement, it added, “Nichts persönliches, auch kein Antisemitismus, kann euch nur nicht ausstehen” (“Nothing personal, also not anti-Semitism, just can’t stand you”).
Local authorities have launched an investigation into the incident. The sign has been widely condemned as a blatant act of anti-Semitism, with experts and community leaders noting that the storeowner’s feeble denial of racist intent does not negate the discriminatory and illegal nature of the message.
German law strictly prohibits incitement to hatred and discrimination. The case has been handed over to police specialists for hate crimes.
